I’m Lovin Lit: Thursday Throw Down #8: Teaching Poetry With Song Lyrics

This month’s Thursday Throw Down is all about teaching poetry with song lyrics. While it isn’t a brand new or revolutionary idea, I absolutely canNOT imagine teaching poetry concepts with plain old vanilla poetry. As a student, I never enjoyed poetry, and I’m determined not to bore my students to death during the entire unit! To be honest, I never enjoyed poetry until I taught a poetry unit for the second time. What was the poem that I taught that made me fall in love with poetry? How about YOU tell ME!
